Wear the Wind
Remember Egypt Forever

A flowing dress above Giza an hour before the gates open, or out in the dunes with nobody else in the frame. You leave with more than a hundred colour-graded photographs, not a handful.

The experience

You bring yourself.
We bring everything else.

A car collects you from your hotel. A dress is waiting in the colour you chose. A photographer directs the whole session, and an assistant does the real work: holding the train, throwing it, keeping it out of the sand between frames.

Thirty to forty-five minutes later it is done, and six to ten days after that more than a hundred colour-graded photographs arrive. You do not need to know how to pose. Nobody does. That is what the direction is for.

The hour nobody else can sell

Seven in the morning, above Giza

  1. The Giza site does not open until eight.

  2. From a rooftop there is no gate, and no ticket.

  3. So the pyramids catch the first light, and nobody else is in it.

Three places

Dunes, a rooftop, and a lake in the desert

45 minutes from Cairo

Sand Dunes

Open dune country close enough to Cairo to shoot at first light and be back for breakfast. No skyline, no other people, nothing in the frame that dates the photograph, just sand, wind and whichever colour you chose.

  • The closest of the three to central Cairo, so it costs you a morning rather than a day.
  • Low sun across open dunes is the light this product was invented for.
  • Nothing in shot but landscape, which is what makes a bold colour read.

An hour before the gates open

The Pyramids Rooftop

The Giza site does not open until eight. From a rooftop there is no gate, so at seven the pyramids are catching the first low sun, the plateau below is still empty, and the only person in your photographs is you.

  • The one hour of the day no photoshoot inside the Giza complex can offer.
  • No entry ticket and no queue. The shoot is on a private roof, not inside the site.
  • The pyramids across a skyline, which is a different photograph from standing underneath them.

Three hours from Cairo

Fayoum: the Lakes and the White Dunes

The furthest of the three and the strangest-looking. Pale dunes running down to still water, with a horizon that does not look like anywhere else in Egypt. A full day rather than a morning, and the photographs are the reason people take it.

  • A landscape with water in it, which neither of the other two has.
  • Pale sand instead of gold, so dark and jewel colours read completely differently here.
  • The widest panoramas of the three.

The wardrobe

Twelve dresses.
One of them is yours for the morning.

Every dress in the collection is included in the price. Choosing one does not change what you pay, and there are five traditional gawns for a partner in the frame.

Not only a photoshoot

The other reasons people book the rooftop

The same locations and the same photography, pointed at whatever you are marking. Each of these is quoted rather than listed, because what it costs depends on the decoration, the venue and the hour.

Rent & hire

Or take the dress and shoot it yourself

Not everyone needs a photographer. Rent one dress from the same collection of twelve, add accessories, or hire a traditional gawn, delivered to your hotel in Cairo, or collected from us.

Rental, accessories and men’s attire are quoted rather than priced on this page. We would rather send you a price that is right for the garment, the dates and where you are staying than publish one here that turns out not to apply. You get it in writing before anything is agreed.

Included in every shoot

Six things, included every time

  • Door-to-door transportation

Collected from your hotel or address and brought back afterwards. Nothing to arrange and nothing to find.

  • 100+ colour-graded photographs

Not a handful of selects. More than a hundred edited frames from one session.

  • One flying dress, yours for the session

Rented from the collection for the shoot, in the colour you choose. Included in the price. Choosing one does not change what you pay.

  • An assistant for the dress

One person whose whole job is the fabric: holding the train, throwing it, keeping it out of the sand between frames.

  • A 30 to 45 minute photoshoot

Directed throughout. You do not need to know how to pose. That is the photographer's job and the dress does the rest.

  • Delivered in 6 to 10 days

Your edited gallery, within six to ten days of the shoot.

The work

What a morning looks like

5 of these 6 frames are ours. The rest are marked as waiting for photographs. We would rather show you a labelled gap than a stock photograph you might mistake for our work.

Straight answers

What we will and will not promise

  • The dress is a preference, not a reservation

We note the colour you choose and have it ready for you. If it is unavailable on the day we contact you before your shoot, rather than promising a specific garment three weeks out and sorting it out on the roof.

  • Nothing is charged on this website

There is no checkout here and we will never ask you to type card details into a form on this site. Visa, MasterCard, PayPal and bank transfer are arranged directly with us.

  • We cannot promise the sunset

The rooftop closes before the earliest sunset of the year. Afternoon sessions run and the light is good; the sunset itself is not ours to sell.

  • There are no reviews on this page yet

Not because there is nothing to say, but because we would rather publish real ones with real names attached than a star rating nobody can trace. They go here when they are collected.
